Common Management Interview Questions

Do you dream of moving up in the business world? You'll have to pass the interview process first, and for some, this can be difficult. Some people just don't interview well.

Believe it or not, there is a preparation process behind it, you should never go into an interview blind or there is no way you'll succeed. You need to know how to answer even the simplest questions or a company won't take you seriously.

For those who need a little nudge in the right direction, here are a few common management interview questions from our staffing services that are a little harder to answer than you might think.

1. Can You Tell Me A Little About Yourself

This is your time to shine. It's time to pitch yourself without giving your whole life's story. They don't need to hear about your entire work history, that's on your resume.

What you want to do is tell them a few accomplishments that you're particularly proud of and then briefly tell them why you're the best choice for the job.

2. How Did You Hear About this Position

You want to name drop. If a friend or someone else told you about the position, you want to tell the interviewer that.

If you found out about the company through an article or social media page, feel free to excitedly tell them.

3. What do You Know About the Company

For this question, you want to tell them how you feel particularly connected to the company. It's for this reason that you want to do a little research on the company before the interview.

You need to name a few company goals that you believe in. Don't be afraid to use a few key terms from their website. A company wants to see that you're familiar with them.

4. What Are Your Strengths

It's essential that you be honest with this. Don't list skills that you don't actually have. You also need to make sure that the skills you list off are relevant to the job you're interviewing for.

Make sure you're not just spouting skills. Also, tell them how you've used them at work in the past.

5. What Are Your Weaknesses

You need to be just as honest with this one that you are with your strengths. The interviewer isn't just looking for things that could disqualify you from the job, they are looking at how self-aware you are.

Saying you have no weaknesses will be less impressive than just listing a few small issues that you know you have.
