SNOLLYGOSTER
As my Word of the Month for October, I picked a word that sounded like something that represents Halloween, appropriately — snollygoster. The “goster” part reminds me of ghost.
Merriam Webster defines snollygoster as an unprincipled but shrewd person. It's a noun that's been used to describe a person who is guided by personal advantage rather than by consistent respectable principles, according to The Free Dictionary. I think a person who is a snollygoster can be “ghostlike” by not showing their true colors.
At Bear Staffing, our job applicants are put through an in-depth screening process prior to being sent to an employer. We like to filter out the snollygosters and send employers good, honest employers.
