Speed to Fill: The Staffing Speed You Need

Written by Gary Johnson, COO | Jun 15, 2022 3:35:00 PM

When you need to fill a position, chances are you don’t have much time to wait sifting through resumes, conducting interviews, or holding training sessions; you need the position filled quickly and efficiently. However, the window quickly closes on good applicants, and we must work quickly. Communication is key, both to and from your recruitment company.

Time is of the Essence

We live in an age when everyone is busy. Busy working, busy commuting, busy in meetings. Your recruiters are also busy finding you the best applicants for open positions. The best way to avoid, “just following up on this,” and to avoid losing out on great candidates, is to respond efficiently and quickly to recruiters, managers, and employees. Communication is paramount and many employees will leave a company within 90 days if they feel the communication is deficient.

Cut Down the Interviews

While many skilled positions take several interviews to fill a position, there are many opportunities when an interview isn’t necessary. If you’re looking for a job, you are likely going to go with the person who offers one to you first – you won’t want to wade through 2 or 3 rounds of interviews. The ones who want you will find you quickly.

By using Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality, we can quickly find the applicants that are best for your company. We sort through applications, onboard, and train virtually, saving precious time and decreasing turnover rates.

Do not “Sit to Start”

Once an employee has been hired, they usually want to start immediately. When someone needs a job, they often need it right away. Instead of having someone start in two weeks, have them start the next day. In other words, if you make them “sit to start,” they will walk. Have a dialogue with your recruiter about when you want people to start working and they will work to get you the best person for that position within an appropriate timeline—working optimally for both you and the employee.

There are so many challenges for staffing jobs today, from labor shortages to qualified applicants.  If you want the best talent, streamline your processes. Should you find a process is moving too slow AND it’s not working efficiently, it’s time to try something new.
